Port Philip Cruising

Margaret Pearl from the water 4

Our bay doesn’t have the natural attributes of Sydney Harbour or the Whitsundays but there are still interesting places to go and things to see.

The best way to plan a cruise is by setting the number of days you want to spend on the water. The destinations can be set when you step aboard and look at the prevailing weather conditions.

Let’s say you want a three day / two night cruise. When you get on board, it’s a beautiful day with 10 to 15 knots of breeze from the south-east – typical Melbourne summer’s day but with a south-westerly change coming in a day or two.

We might head first to historic Port Arlington – a comfortable three or four hours from St Kilda – and the home of fresh local mussels and a great local pub. From there, Blairgowrie, Geelong or Queenscliff might be the second night onboard.

On the eastern side of the bay, Mornington and Martha Cove provide secure berthing in all weathers.

As you cruise, our crew will provide the best food and beverage offerings.

You can stop for a swim or throw out a line as you wish.

A couple of days on Margaret Pearl will be the most hassle-free overseas trip you’ve ever had.
